Established in 1968 and significantly expanded in recent years, Pháp viện Minh Đăng Quang is the spiritual headquarters of the Mendicant Buddhist Order (Hệ phái Khất sĩ), a homegrown Vietnamese Buddhist tradition. Architecturally, the complex represents a modern evolution of Buddhist design, favoring reinforced concrete structures combined with traditional iconography.

Pháp viện Minh Đăng Quang is a monumental Buddhist complex located in District 2 (Thủ Đức City), situated along the Hanoi Highway. Its position marks a significant departure from the narrow “tube house” constraints of central Saigon, occupying a sprawling 45,000-square-meter site.
