Description
A Golden Pagoda clay relief, handmade in gold and silver, depicting a multi-tiered pagoda rising from a jagged mountainside, timber eaves and structural detail pressed deep into the slab.
The composition tilts slightly, the pagoda leaning into the rockface rather than standing apart from it, giving the piece a precarious, perched quality. Gold dominates the upper surfaces of the architecture and cliff face, silver receding into the shadows and crevices below, the contrast between the two finishes creating genuine depth across a compact surface. At 10x10cm it suits a desk, narrow shelf or window ledge without requiring fixings.
In Japanese and broader East Asian tradition, the pagoda sits at the meeting point of earth and sky, a structure designed as much for the spiritual as the physical. This piece captures that elevation, the building seemingly unreachable from below.
An original handmade clay sculpture, one of a kind, 10x10cm.
