Description
A Satori clay relief, handmade in silver and pink, depicting the creature in full-face close portrait, broad primate features, bared teeth and a heavy brow filling the slab, three small circular symbols pressed into the upper corner.
The face is carved with raw, muscular weight, deep relief emphasising the jaw, brow ridges and the flat set of the nose, the silver and pink finish giving the skin-like clay surface an unsettling warmth. The circular symbols in the upper right sit quietly against the intensity of the expression below, their presence suggesting something ritual or taxonomic about the piece. At 10x10cm it suits a desk, narrow shelf or window ledge without requiring fixings.
The Satori is a mountain-dwelling yokai known for its ability to read human thoughts and speak them aloud before they are uttered, its primate form and piercing stare a physical manifestation of the discomfort of being truly known.
An original handmade clay sculpture, one of a kind, 10x10cm.
