Description
A Yatagarasu clay relief, handmade in silver, depicting the divine crow in close portrait, head turned, beak sharp, layered feather detail covering the chest and wing filling the lower half of the slab.
The bird is rendered with fine, overlapping relief work across the plumage, each feather row carved individually into the surface, the silver finish picking out the raised edges and deepening the shadow between layers. The composition is close and unhurried, the crow’s eye calm rather than fierce. At 10x10cm it suits a desk, narrow shelf or window ledge without requiring fixings.
In Japanese mythology, the Yatagarasu is a three-legged crow sent from the heavens as a divine guide, its appearance considered a sign of guidance and the will of the gods made visible. This piece captures the creature in stillness, between journeys.
An original handmade clay sculpture, one of a kind, 10x10cm.
