AURIC DEPTHS Coin [ARC G01] – Handmade Clay, Gold/Holographic, Limited, 27mm

Description

Five kanji seal discs cluster across the face of the AURIC DEPTHS handmade clay coin, their overlapping forms coated in a Gold/Holographic finish that moves between khaki-gold and fractured blue-violet as the light shifts.

The pigment behaves differently across the two surfaces it finds – pooling thickly into the recessed channels between and within each disc, and catching brightest on the broadest raised forms where the holographic particles concentrate. Each disc carries its own bold character relief, the strokes pressed deep enough that the cuts read as shadow even beneath the metallic coat. The reverse presents the Japanese artist mark on a wide, unbroken metallic field – the holographic scatter distributes evenly across the open ground, the mark itself sitting slightly darker where the pigment thins into the impressed lines, set against a surface that reads closer to hammered metal than clay.
