Description
Pressed from raw terracotta clay and finished in a violet and iridescent pigment, the CIPHER MASS handmade clay coin carries one of the most relief-dense faces in the collection – a front surface packed edge to edge with overlapping cartouche forms, each holding its own compressed script.
The front offers no negative space: circular cartouches stack and interlock across the full face, their raised edges catching the violet shimmer while the deepest channels hold dark copper shadow. The iridescent shift moves between pink, green and teal depending on angle, running across the ridgelines of each pressed form. The reverse is quieter – a single rectangular stamp sits centred in open, granular clay ground, its interior carrying compact layered glyphs. Violet pigment pools unevenly across the surface, concentrated in patches that break the terracotta base through in places.
Supplied in Lighthouse coin capsules with acrylic display stands.
