COLD STATIC Coin [CDS D01] – Handmade Clay, Dark Grey/Iridescent, 27mm

Description

The COLD STATIC handmade clay coin is pressed from dark charcoal clay and finished with a blue-dominant iridescent pigment that pools into the recessed relief and reads almost electric against the near-black ground.

The front carries a large composite Japanese stamp character: squared forms, horizontal stroke groupings and angular extensions filling the face with clean, high-contrast geometry. The iridescent pigment collects in the pressed channels in concentrated arcs of blue and teal, the surrounding raised clay holding raw charcoal as deep shadow. The contrast between the two is sharper here than in any other piece in this run. The reverse is open and unworked – raw charcoal ground with iridescent pigment scattered unevenly in fine flecks, a teal and gold bloom sitting in the upper portion and the hand-engraved artist mark pressed into the surface.
