Description

This EMPIRE HANKO handmade clay coin is finished in a weathered terracotta with deep charcoal carbonization settling into the linework. The aesthetic is that of an excavated relic, where the natural clay warmth is heavily distressed by dark surface oxidation to emphasize the depth of the pressed relief.

The obverse displays a central Japanese hanko stamp featuring sharp, geometric characters surrounded by a border of radiating segments. On the reverse, the surface remains raw and pitted, carrying the hand-engraved artist mark cut directly into the material.
