Description

FERRIC is a FERRIC handmade clay coin in Dark Grey/Iridescent, its metallic charcoal surface carrying a pink iridescent shift that surfaces selectively rather than evenly – catching in the cuts on the front and gathering in a single concentrated deposit on the reverse.

The front presents the large geometric artist mark in full relief – square frame, vertical bars, and angular letterforms pressed deep into the clay, the dark grey metallic pigment coating the raised forms while pink iridescent catches along the channel edges and within the recessed cuts, giving the impression of heat still held in the material. The reverse is the counterpoint: a wide, smooth dark grey metallic field with no mark and almost no surface incident, until the lower quadrant where a dense cluster of pink iridescent pigment has settled – isolated, deliberate in its concentration, the only point of colour on an otherwise austere surface.
