Description

GROUND ZERO MARK is a GROUND ZERO MARK handmade clay coin in Terracotta, centred on a deep circular crater pressed into the clay face with a bold kanji-style stamp relief sitting at its base.

The crater walls rise steeply from the stamp, the clay compressed and darkened at the rim where material was displaced during pressing, and heavy dark deposits spread outward across the surrounding field in uneven patches – the result reads less like a surface decoration and more like an impact site. The stamp itself is densely worked, its angular characters pressing up from the crater floor with strong relief contrast against the dark recessed ground. The reverse carries the Japanese artist mark on a more open terracotta field, the surface dusty and naturally varied, the mark pressed lightly relative to the force evident on the front.

Supplied in Lighthouse coin capsules with acrylic display stands.
