Description

This HANKO RELIC handmade clay coin features a deep terracotta finish with subtle, dark carbonized highlights. The surface is heavily worked to create an unearthed, ancient aesthetic where the matte clay body contrasts with charcoal-toned pigments trapped within the deep relief.

The obverse displays a central Japanese hanko stamp pressed into the clay, surrounded by a series of repeating radial dashes that suggest a ceremonial or archival seal. On the reverse, the surface maintains a raw, pitted character and carries the hand-engraved artist mark cut directly into the material.
