LODE FACE Coin [LDF I01] – Handmade Clay, Teal/Iridescent, Limited Edition, 27mm

Description

Cast from raw terracotta and finished in a deep teal and iridescent wash, the LODE FACE handmade clay coin is built around a front face unlike anything else in the collection – four script-filled lobes radiating outward from a pressed human face at the centre.

The front carries a radial design: four petal forms arranged symmetrically, each dense with layered script marks, converging on a clearly modelled face – brow, eyes, and nose pressed firmly into the clay. The teal pigment saturates the raised surfaces and pools in the relief channels, with raw copper terracotta breaking through along the deepest edges. The iridescent shift moves across the face in arcs of green and blue depending on angle. The reverse is stripped back – a single broad glyph stamp sits centred on an open, granular ground, the teal wash spreading unevenly across the surface with terracotta visible at the outer rim.
