NULL BEARING Coin [NLB I01] – Handmade Clay, Teal/Iridescent, Limited Edition, 27mm

Description

Finished in a full-surface teal and iridescent wash over raw terracotta clay, the NULL BEARING handmade clay coin is one of the more restrained pieces in the collection – its front face composed of just two elements against an open, oxidised ground.

A single circular cartouche sits in the upper portion of the front face, its interior holding compressed Japanese stamp script pressed into the clay. Below it, a plain raised disc – smooth, unworked, unscripted – sits in deliberate contrast. The teal pigment spreads unevenly across the ground, the metallic iridescent shift catching in green and blue arcs while raw copper terracotta breaks through in broad irregular patches. The reverse is teal-dominant across the upper surface, the hand-engraved artist mark pressed centrally with terracotta ground exposed in the lower half, the two tones dividing the face horizontally.
