Description
The SLAG VEIN handmade clay coin arrives in a raw copper and iridescent finish, pressed from air-dry clay and sealed to preserve a surface that shifts between burnt orange and spectral teal depending on the light. This is the first piece in the Copper/Iridescent finish run.
The front face carries a deeply impressed circular cartouche, its interior packed with dense, scratched script-like marks layered over one another – illegible by design, like text worn past reading. The copper pigment pools darkly in the recessed channels while iridescent flicker catches along the raised clay ridges. The reverse holds a different register: a broad hand impression pressed into the surface with stacked linear marks beneath it, reading as a primitive maker’s mark or territorial glyph. The same dual finish moves differently here – the flatter ground lets the teal and violet shift spread without interruption.
Supplied in Lighthouse coin capsules with acrylic display stands.
